The world has some amazing, beautiful things, but there is also a lot of fear, anxiety, and chaos. As a result, if we're not careful of what we are focusing on and turning our hearts toward, we can inadvertently become more aware of the chaos and worries of the world than the presence and power of God. We'll allow the shadows to cloud our view of God.
A key to overcoming this focus on negative things is shifting our awareness and focus onto God and His promises instead of the world's cares. That we would practice focusing and trusting in the fact that God overshadows us because He wants us to live more aware of His presence than anything else.
That we would "set our mind on things above, not on the things on the earth, so that we can be instrumental in releasing heaven on earth as Jesus did." (Col 3:1).
"We've been designed as a resting place for the spirit of God. For in doing so, we change every environment that we walk into. As we give place to the spirit of God, we will find continually that we will change and shift environments, because what we are aware of is what we release all around us. (Bill Johnson)
An example is how Peter, the disciple of Jesus, shadow healed people as he walked along the road. Peter was so aware that Heaven was overshadowing Him that God's presence was more of a reality than anything or anyone else. (Acts 5:15)
Today consider what you are focused upon. Are you being weighed down by the cares and concerns of the world, or are you seeking to become more aware of God's power and presence in and upon your life? He is with you, and greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Your shadow will always release what overshadows you, so I encourage you to look to God's goodness and love for you and determine to shift and change the environment around you as you bring Heaven to earth.
"My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest." (Exodus 33:4)
"He who dwells in the secret place of the most high will abide under the shadow of the Almighty".(Psalm 91:1)
Prayer: Lord, please help me to become more aware of your presence than anything else and that I would not allow the cares and concerns of this world to cloud my view of you and the potential I have to change situations around me to align with what Heaven is releasing today. In Jesus name Amen
