1 December - The Power Of Saying Yes

“If someone offers you an amazing opportunity to do something and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes. Then learn how to do it later.” (Richard Branson)

Life is richer, fuller, and more vibrant when we say yes. We do more, create more and live more, which is why God loves it when we have a yes mindset and attitude.

Unfortunately, we are often far more prone towards saying “No”, but no is one of the biggest blocks to creativity, opportunities and improvisation. Whereas God loves it when we say Yes, because it’s in saying Yes that we are easily able to become all that He purposed and planned for us to be.

God will come along and push out the boundaries and limitations we put on ourselves and our futures. His dream and story for our lives are bigger than we can ever imagine, and when we choose every day to simply say, “Yes, God, here I am, lead me, use me, grow me”, then we can more easily experience the full, overflowing, abundant life that Jesus came to give us. (John 10:10)

Saying Yes also helps us, “Think Outside the Box”, for when we say Yes to the unknown, it allows us to stretch outside of the comfort zones we live in.

“Never be afraid to trust your unknown future to a known God.” (Corrie Ten Boon)

God knows that saying “yes” to Him and opportunities takes real courage and often an abandoning of our fears. (Psalm 84:11-12) It’s jumping into the unknown, but in the midst of that decision, God says we don’t ever need to be afraid because He is there, and that’s where miracles live.

Today, I encourage you to trust God and His promises for your life. He has good things in mind for you, so put your hand in the hand of the one who created so much for you to enjoy and experience and ask not why, but why not and say Yes!

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20)

“What then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31-32)

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” (John 10:10 AMP)

Prayer: Lord thank you that with you, all things are possible and that you have good things in mind for me. Please help me to be brave enough every day to say “Yes” to you and the opportunities you lead me to. In Jesus name Amen.
