1 February - How To Stop Doubtful Thoughts

There is a foundational principle in receiving and building the best kind of life God wants for you. I've discovered a lot hinges on us choosing to "Feed our faith and starve our doubts".

There is no point in allowing negative, doubt-filled thoughts to buzz around in our minds because those negative thoughts breed confusion, which leads to more confusion which will steal our ability to see and know where we are meant to be going and what and who to focus on.

Doubtful thoughts don't come from Jesus and won't give you peace, whereas good thoughts will settle your soul and energise you to keep achieving your dreams and fully become the person you desire to be.

Confusion and doubt can, however, sneak into our lives when we allow too many things to cloud our view of what God is saying, and we lose sight of our hopes and dreams.

Focus On Your Priorities

To combat this confusion and doubt about what to do and how to do it, Jesus encourages us to make a concentrated effort to roll over the care of any problems and worries to him and to eliminate confusion by focusing on our priorities. As you roll over your concerns and focus on your priorities, Jesus promises to give you peace and lead you in the right direction for your life.

"Cast all your cares upon Jesus because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)

"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps." ( Proverbs 16:9 ESV).

We get to choose daily: "Will I feed my faith or feed my doubts? Will I stand on what God has spoken or be moved and intimidated by what I see or feel? "

Today I encourage you to doubt your doubts, feed your faith, and focus on your priorities and what will lead you to the best life Jesus has for you.

Even when you don't see or feel it, Jesus is working, so take hold of His promises, feed your faith by spending time with Jesus, reading and listening to His Word and being around other positive people who know Him. Our "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." However, it is also diminished by listening and looking at those things that cause fear and unbelief to creep into our thoughts and heart. (Romans 10:17)

Continue doing what you've received, heard and seen in Jesus and what He says, and He will bring peace to your heart and mind today.

"Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you." (Proverbs 4:25)

Jesus said. "All things are possible to him who believes!”…(Mark 9:21-23)

"I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)

Prayer: Lord, I'm choosing to feed my faith, starve my doubts, and focus on my priorities and what is important in my life. Thank you for working all things together for my good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
