1 March - How To Persevere And Win

Today our daughter Shara Rose released her first video for an original song. From the recording of the song called “Hold On” to the release of the video, it has been quite a journey for her in perseverance and being able to bounce back from difficulties as she has faced discouragement and repeated medical issues, which became life-threatening several times.

But thankfully, she has bounced back and persevered and is now reaping some of the benefits of not giving up.

One of the keys to achieving your dreams and living your best life is perseverance and building resilience within yourself to keep going. However, when building these qualities in your life, it's important to know what and who to focus on when the going gets tough or you start to feel “over it.”

I think it’s a bit like the comparison between those people on the front lines in an army in contrast to those bringing up the rear.

The front line has to persevere through difficulties first, and they need to know what they are there for. They can't just quit, and they don’t have time to be distracted by the unimportant but must remain disciplined and focused and know who is standing next to them and those they can depend on. It takes them being clear-minded and knowing their purpose, assignment and what they want because they are the leaders, and everyone will follow in their footsteps.

But those who aren’t on the front lines can have other things on their mind, allow themselves to get distracted, and they can even desert the cause far easier.

The key to persevering and bouncing back from challenges is knowing and focusing on your purpose, goals, and what you really want in life, so you have clear reasons for holding steady and bouncing back after suffering a discouragement or hurdle.

Plus, you will be far less likely to give up when you know Jesus, consistently read what he says in His Word and listen to his guidance on navigating through challenges and life in general.

The Bible talks about perseverance and says it produces steadfastness in our faith. God encourages us to let steadfastness have its full effect so “that we may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4;12)

God doesn’t give up on us but remains faithful, and He always encourages us to follow His example and says, “Keep going, keep running your race, keep believing and keep moving forward with me.” That’s because He wants you to fulfil your purpose so you can live the life He has planned and desires for you. (John 10:10)

Today I encourage you to focus on what you are called and desire to become and do. Keep the vision before you, and know you are not alone. Take time to learn what God has to say because He has a destiny and plan mapped out for you and will strengthen you to persevere with endurance so you can get to the other side of any challenge you may be facing. With Him, you can do this, and it will be worth it in the end.

“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13)

So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

Prayer: Lord, please strengthen and encouraged me today to persevere so that I will reap the reward of not quitting at the appointed time. Thank you that I can do all things because you give me strength. In Jesus name, Amen.
