My family often laugh at me because I love to “Google”. Often when we are talking about a topic, or watching something on TV and I want to know more about a particular person, place or topic of discussion I will say, “I’ll just Google it”.
I’m naturally curious about life, and not simply what is easily visible on the surface of things. I want to know, and discover and learn more.
However there is something and someone even better than “Google” for the information, direction and wisdom that really matters in life. It’s God, and the knowledge held in His Word.
God’s Word holds powerful and insightful instructions for our lives. It’s really a manual for how to live a full, meaningful, healthy and prosperous life. But unfortunately people often fail to pick it up and read it on a regular basis, and if they do they choose not to do what it says anyway.
But if we do listen to what God’s Word says, and choose to tune our ears to His wisdom and understanding, He promises He will grant us a treasure of common sense, and be a shield and protection to those who walk with integrity; so that we will know what is right, just and fair, and the right way to go. (Proverbs 2:2-9)
Today I encourage you to discover for yourself how God and His word are better than any encyclopaedia, information technology or Google. If you really want to know and walk in those things that truly matter, then make the effort to search and study out His Word first, and you’re sure to discover all the wisdom, and answers you’ll need, because “God is better than Google.”
“Never forget the things I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.
Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones….Honour the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce, The He will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.” (Proverbs 3:1-9)
Prayer: Lord thank you that you are better than Google, because you do have all the answers. Thank you for the wisdom, knowledge and understanding you reveal to me when I take the time to read and study your Word, and spend time with you. Help me to be more diligent in seeking you than I am about seeking anything or anyone else. In Jesus Name Amen.
