When our kids were little they loved to play on the monkey bars at the playground. However, it's a long way from one end to the other of the playground equipment and their little arms and hands weren't usually strong enough to hold them all the way across. This is where their Dad or I would step in and hold them up while they swung all the way across.
As a result the kids always felt like they had achieved something, while of course, we had done most of the heavy lifting.
It's much the same with us and how God us with us. We have a dream and goal in our hearts that we are wanting to pursue, and as a result, reach out into the unknown, often thinking we have to do everything in our own ability and strength. What we however don't often see is that God is right there alongside us doing the heavy lifting.
He'll allow us to strengthen up our faith muscles, and he will push us a little to help us grow. Where we are weak or get tired He promises He will strengthen us. When we start to feel it's too hard He makes it possible because he's holding us. When we need some encouragement He cheers us on and encourages us with His promises.
`
Today be encouraged, take a step, reach out, and trust you are not alone. God is there to do the heavy lifting when you need him to and will strengthen you to fulfill your purpose and achieve your dreams.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."(Philippians 4:13)
"He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along." (Psalm 40:2, NLT)
Prayer: Lord thank you that you lift me up and do the heavy lifting. When I am weak you are strong and when I am tired you give me strength. Please help me today to trust you that when I need help you will be there. In Jesus name Amen.
