God cares, He actually does know what we are going through and He has promised that He will be with us through it all. He never said it was going to always be smooth sailing, but that in actual fact there will be times where we would face trials, tribulations, and things in which we must persevere through. The important point to remember however is that these trials and afflictions are not permanent. They are momentary afflictions, not a life sentence! (2 Corinthians 4:17-18) God encourages us when we are facing these momentary difficulties to not “lose it” but instead to continue to use our faith, His word, and our trust in Him to stand, and when we’ve done all else to just keep standing, for we will overcome.
Jesus says that He Himself is the High Priest of our confession. This means that when we speak and believe in agreement with the bible, Jesus is authorised to administer and carry out on our behalf the promises that we are declaring from His Word (Hebrews 3:1). However He is not responsible over our confessions if they are full of negativity or faithless words, for He is High priest over deliverance, righteousness, and freedom – He acts on our faith filled words!
Today, give Jesus and the angels, who go to work alongside Jesus when they hear faith filled words, something decent to act upon with your confession. Go back to the basics if need be and remind yourself of who Jesus is, what He has promised and who you are in Him. Remember what is actually important in life; count your blessings, get some perspective, stand your ground and watch what you are declaring, because heaven is waiting and listening to act upon your words.
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again – may Saviour and my God!” (Psalm 43:5 NLT)
“And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:21-22 ESV)
“Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.” (Proverbs 21:23)
Prayer: Lord please help me when I am finding it difficult. Set a guard over my mouth so that I would not speak those things that aren’t of any benefit, especially in regard to who I am and my future. I choose to believe what you say about my life in your word, about who I am, where I’m going, and that together you and I always have a plan, a hope and a future. In Jesus name Amen.
