There is a verse in the bible that always captures my imagination and heart when I read it on how God sees my time and each day. It says that, “we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
The thought that God has planned for me good things to walk in since the beginning of time always makes me stop and think. It then usually starts to fuel my determination to inquire of God what it is that he would like me to be, and what is it He’s thought up for me to do each day.
To ask the questions, “Where has God planned that I should be, and where has He been busy setting things up while I wasn’t looking? Who does He want me to encourage, talk to, help or just be there for? What it that He has organised so that I make an impact and difference? What adventure has he been planning from before I was born for me to be part of today?”
Realising all this and that I am part of a bigger plan and story within my individual story constantly reminds me that I am significant, that God has an overall plan and that I am necessary and valuable to both Him and the world.
Today be encouraged that God has good things planned for you every day to walk in. All you have to do is stop and inquire of Him and then make yourself available. He has a plan and you have your part to play; adventures to take just because God knows you will enjoy experiencing them and people he has positioned in your day for you to be able to bless, help, learn from and have in your world.
Your life is not one of fate, coincidence or some fluke of nature, for all along God has been busy making you into a masterpiece and shaping you to be an integral piece of the big picture He has for the entire world. If we ask, God will give insight to His purposes for us and we will find peace and courage to walk in them when we sense that we are in the right place at the right time.
Trust Him today to lead and guide, for as you do you’ll know a life that has meaning, purpose and joy.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth” (Exodus 9:16).
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
Prayer: Lord thank you that you are leading me in your plan and purpose for me. Please reveal to me the good things that you have planned for me to do today. I want to become all you made me to be and to be an influence for encouragement and good today. In Jesus name Amen.
