We’ve got to expect more! God is able and will do far more than we ask, think, pray for, dream or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20) But what are we asking, thinking, imagining and dreaming for? Is it for disaster, sickness, the next bad thing, or just a ho hum life where we never see God do the miraculous on a regular basis; where we never experience His presence so great that we are rendered speechless and on our faces before Him; where the awe and wonder of heaven breaks out? What are we expecting??
I feel in my heart today God saying, “we’ve got to expect more. To be bolder in our declarations, to build ourselves up in the Spirit so that the miraculous is the norm, where supernatural things are happening everyday and we are in the thick of it. We’ve got to start expecting more!”
The question is who is influencing us? Who are we listening to? Who and what do we know most about? Is it the latest news on Facebook, the sports results or our favourite drama on T.V, or is it what God is speaking and releasing from heaven? Is it the negative influences of darkness we hear most or are we saturating ourselves in God’s Word, in what He has spoken, in what He has done and is doing, and the possibilities of what faith in Jesus and His work upon the Cross of Calvary can do in our midst?
What we surround ourselves with; what we listen, read and study will either catapult our faith and expectations to limitless possibilities in God, or it will cause our heads and hearts to be full of low expectations, high levels of unbelief, and diminished faith.
Today, start filling your life with God’s Word, with accounts of supernatural happenings, miracles, healings, breakthroughs, angelic encounters, signs and wonders. The bible is full of them and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8) How Jesus worked then, He will and does still work today and even greater.
What are you expecting today, and how are you building your expectation and faith for the miraculous and supernatural? Because the world needs those who profess to know Jesus to expect more; the world is crying out for help, for healing, for the God who works miracles, and He expects us to go out and be the one’s whom He works through!
“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
“He replied… Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
“You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.” (Psalm 77:14)
Prayer: Lord please forgive me for my low expectations and unbelief that you will work the miraculous right now in and through my life. Forgive me where I have doubted that you will back up your Word with signs and wonders, because I have chosen to fill my life with other things. But today I choose to focus my attention on you and all the limitless possibilities you say are mine. I choose to activate my faith in you; in the promises of your Word. I expect more today! In Jesus Name amen.
