I was reading today from Psalm 103 and how, “God forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!” (v. 3-5)
The thing that stood out to me today as I read this scripture is that God wants me to expect my life to be filled with good things.
How refreshing in a world where there is so much negativity and a constant expectation of bad stuff happening that God would want us to expect to see his goodness displayed in our lives. God promises that regardless of what may be happening in the world He will “fill my life with good things.”
Instead of expecting the worst God wants us to put the spiritual law of attraction, which He created into action and to set our day up looking for his favour and blessing to be poured out in abundance.
I encourage you to expect God to fill your life with good things by determining to set your day up right by first thing in the morning choosing to:
Spend time with God and thanking Him for all that He has and is doing in your life. Deal with any issues of unforgiveness or where you know you have messed up so that you can come freely and boldly to God and ask. “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16)
Expect God’s favour and blessings to be poured out on you
Speak God’s promises over your life and circumstances. Start to give voice to specific promises which are found in God’s word for your situation and remember to look out for the answers to unfold throughout your day
Expect Him to do abundantly more than you can think, dream, or imagine according to His power at work in you. (Ephesians 3:20)
Your life will follow the direction of what you focus and give voice to. Today choose to set your heart on God and the things of heaven, and speak out the promises in His Word, because “He is alert and active watching over his word to perform it in your life.” (Jeremiah 1:12)
“For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. (Psalm 84:11)
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” (Deuteronomy 3-:19)
Prayer: Lord I expect good things to fill my life today because of your great love and mercy towards me. Thank you for your favour and blessing being poured out on my life today and please show me where I can share your goodness with others today. In Jesus name Amen.
