15 Feb - Who You Are Becoming?

The amazing message of Jesus is that He offers to exchange who we used to be for who He says we’re becoming. It’s what the Bible means when it says, you are a new creation.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Your spirit knows you are a new creation, but your mind and emotions need to catch up with the truth of what Jesus has done in you.

Soemthing I have found helpful to bring my mind and emotions in line with what God says about me is to visualise - close your eyes and imagine yourself as God says you are. “See” yourself being the best version of yourself and achieving your goals and living your best life.

For example, if you desire to be fit and healthy or in a loving relationship where you are patient and kind, begin to imagine yourself that way. As you focus on that image and what God says about your life, that image and definition of yourself will replace the current one.

Every day think about what you desire to happen for the day. Then think upon and speak out God’s promises as you renew your thoughts and visualize and speak what you want the day to look like.

Here are some affirmations of what God says about your life to help you move forward into all that you are created to be:

I am a new creature in Christ: old things have passed away; behold, all things are new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and all those who rise up against me shall fall.” (Isaiah 54:17)

“I prosper in everything I put my hand to. I have prosperity in all areas of my life–spiritually, financially, mentally, and socially.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“I take every thought captive unto the obedience of Jesus Christ, casting down every imagination and every high and lofty thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

As a man thinks in his heart, so is he; therefore, my thoughts are positive.” (Proverbs 23:7)

“I cast all my care on Jesus, for He cares for me.” (1 Peter 5:7)

“I don’t have a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7)

I am creative because the Holy Spirit lives in me.” (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 6:19)

“Jesus took up all my infirmities and carried all my diseases. I am healed.” (Isaiah 54:3; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that with your help and wisdom, I am being transformed in every area of my life into the person you have created me to be. Would you please help me think, speak, and only act upon what you say about me today? In Jesus name Amen.
