15 Mar – The best is yet to come!

do exploits

I was challenged today about the fact that the older we get in our walk with Jesus the greater should be our testimony, and the stories we have to tell.

It’s fantastic when we retell and repeat other people’s stories of what God has done, and especially when we share our own accounts of what He has done in our past, or even just last week. But it’s also important that we have daily accounts of what He is doing right now – today! That our best stories are not in the past; months or years ago, but that we have a living, vital relationship with God that is ongoing. That the further and deeper we get in our relationship with Jesus the brighter our light shines, and the greater the stories we have to tell of His power working in and through our lives.

Sadly far too often it can be the opposite, and we live only telling of what God did way back when; how we used to serve and be “full on” for Jesus and how we “have” experienced Him doing amazing things, but not “are” experiencing Him.

But God never intended that our walk with Him would start with a “bang” and then fade out; that the light within us would slowly become dimmer and dimmer. No! He intends that we would all go from faith to faith, from one great exploit and adventure with God to another. That we would still be running; five, ten, twenty, fifty, one hundred years on, and that the testimonies and stories that we first started with are nothing compared to what’s happening in our lives now, and in our future.

What we’ve experienced is nothing in comparison to what God has in store for us, if we’d just keep going deeper in our relationship with Him. But far too often we expect and have faith for so little, and so we experience little.

Today, remember and celebrate all that you have seen and experienced in your walk with God so far, but make a decision to not live there. Keep going deeper and further in your relationship with Him. Start to believe and build your faith for God to do more, and for you to know Him more; for your light to shine brighter and brighter; and for God to continue to do great exploits through you, and in you. “For the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Daniel 11:32NKJV)

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a crop if we don’t give up, or quit.” (Galatians 6:9)

“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” (Job 5:9)

Prayer: Jesus I want to have my own amazing stories to tell of what I have seen and experienced with you. I want you to use me to do great and marvellous things, and for my light to just get brighter and brighter. Lets do something awesome today. In Jesus name Amen.
