17 February - Know Which Direction To Take Every time

Today I visited the university where I have enrolled to do some more study. Two of our kids will also be attending the same university and even some of the same classes.😊 (I think I will be a great buddy in class, but I'm not too sure my soon-to-be 21-year-old son thinks my presence will be helpful on other fronts).

However, we were at the Uni today to check out where everything is and quickly found the need for physical maps on campus and on our phones.

Without a map, I'm sure we would have been wandering around busy following different signs, little avenues and directions and getting lost. We took a wrong turn on several occasions today and had to stop and consult the map. We then changed course and started our search again because we had ended up in the wrong spot.

As most of us know, a map is important to how we find our way, and whilst some people are blessed with a great sense of direction, everyone still needs something to help them get their bearings and to point them in the right direction.

Life, in general, is much the same way. We can all use a map to give directions and benefit from having a guidebook in every area of life.

Interestingly Jesus calls himself the way and encourages us to follow him and the guidance He gives to navigate life. He said, "I am the way and the truth and the life" and that His word is "a lamp to my feet And a light to my path." ((John 14:16; Psalm 119:105).

Life can be tricky enough without having to navigate alone and without guidance on how to do life well. But Jesus advises us that we are never alone and that He will help us both in the big and little decisions in life and in which direction and way to take. He is interested in every facet of our lives, and nothing is too small a question or issue for him to care about.

Today, I encourage you to check in with the maker of the map, Jesus, and the guidance found outlined in his word. You'll find answers, wisdom, relationship advice, career moves, the best route for your future and who you were created to be. If you seek Him, He promises you will find him, and as you get to know Him more, you will gain an understanding of who you are, which will make all the difference to your journey and the direction you take. (Jeremiah 29:13)

Follow Jesus and His map, and you'll know which direction to take and become the best version of yourself.

"The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." (Psalm 119:130)

"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true..." (2 Timothy 3:16)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you are the maker of the map and know exactly where and how I am to walk through life and to do it well in the process. Please help me remember that I don't need to go off on my own or get lost because you promise that you will lead and guide me in the way to go. In Jesus name, Amen.
