18 Nov – Made To Shine

Today, I talked to a friend about how we can make an impact and be both noticeable and memorable. I commented that we are often taught in Church not to draw attention to ourselves and to seek only to glorify Jesus through our lives. That it’s not about us but Him.

The Bible also says that we are created to reflect His glory. We do this by stepping into what we’re made to do, for in this, we glorify Him.

So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 TPT)

This means if God’s called and positioned us to be on a stage, leader of a business, or the top of our field in some way so that we stand out and shine, we should do that knowing all of heaven is backing us to succeed. Because if we keep Jesus in the centre of our lives, we will glorify Him by being who we are called to be.

It’s not that everyone has to be upfront and in the limelight because not everyone excels in that place, but if you are, then God encourages you to be that star that points people to Him. God’s word says we are to be the head and not the tail, above and not beneath and that when people look at us, they will say, “Look what the Lord has done, they are the ones the Lord has blessed”.

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.“ (Deuteronomy 28:13 NIV)

They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendour. … All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the LORD has blessed.” (Isaiah 61:3)

This week, plan to focus and spend your time seeking to grow and excel in the things that make your soul sing and which equip, enhance, and encourage you in your gifts and talents.

Let God guide you, and remember, when you shine and stand out for the spectacular person you are, He is glorified through your life.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for today. Would you please continue to release gifts, dreams and all the things that will cause me to shine as you created me to, so that through my life you will be glorified.. In Jesus Name Amen.
