20 Feb -Shine

In furniture restoration once the craftsman has sanded, and repaired and sanded some more, there comes the time to apply the colour. Whether it’s glossy, flat, French polished or painted; a decision is made if it’s in the latest style and colour.

It’s the fun bit where all the hard work pays off. The wood and texture shines through and the craftsman is thankful for all the sanding, scraping and time and effort.

I think this is a fun stage for God too. We have allowed Him to lovingly restore us, and He then He gets to add the unique colour, gloss, and shine.

He releases gifts and dreams in us. We are all unique and He knows what it’s going to take to make us look the best; to bring out all the workmanship and beauty in us.

A big part of restoration in our life is realising life is a blessing! Enjoy it, and prosper your soul. Look for the good, the inspiring, the beauty in everything and everyone around you. That’s how God thinks.

Life is a gift from God. Sometimes we need to be reminded to embrace the gift. As we do our minds and hearts are renewed to think and see like God does, and our hope and joy is restored.

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”.

This week plan to find and do things regularly that make your soul sing. Surround yourself with joyful people. Turn off the news if you need to. Ignore facebook, don’t read that article, or listen to that conversation.

When God takes the time to restore us He wants us to shine. If what you are doing is stealing the “shine” from your day then don’t “go there.” Let God guide you. Let Him colour your world, and cause you to shine and prosper your soul.

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2).

Prayer: Lord I thank you for today. Please continue to restore me and release the fun stuff in my life. Release gifts, dreams and all the things that will cause me to shine as you created me to, Help me to see life as a blessing and a gift. In Jesus Name Amen.
