I was reminded today of just how much God loves us. He really does love us so much! Our minds can’t really comprehend His love for us, and how He longs for us to know Him. As a result many people can leave Him out of their everyday lives, of their thoughts and their decisions, even when they profess to know Him.

Sadly we can all do that to some degree, when God just wants to be loved by us, and to be able to love us back. He doesn’t put huge expectations upon us, or hit us with a big stick when we have messed up. He loves us, and if He does correct or discipline us it’s because He loves us so much.

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, or lose heart when He rebukes you. For the Lord disciplines the ones He loves.” (Hebrews 12:6)

“What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are.” (1 John 3:1)

Today, reconnect with the one who loves you so much that He gave up everything to win you; just like a lover woos their loved one, so too God wants to woo you…He wants to be noticed by you, so that you might desire to find out all about Him; about His heart and the things that matter to Him. About His plans, and dreams and how things work in His Kingdom. He’s not angry or resentful, but waiting for us to hear His voice calling so that we will turn our hearts and faces towards Him, and simply love Him back.

Prayer: Lord I’m sorry for ignoring you, and for all the times I get caught up in things that really don’t matter. Thank you for loving me. I want you to know that I love you back. In Jesus Name Amen.
