I was talking with a friend today about making faith deposits in our life. Everyone is given a measure of faith (Rom 12:3). You can’t come to know Jesus without having some faith – “For by grace are you are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” ( Ephesians 2:8) However our task is to grow our faith, and learn how to use it.
How do we grow our faith? The bible says, faith comes by hearing the Word of God. It comes by reading the Bible and speaking the words of faith over ourselves, and by listening to good preaching on faith.
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10: 17)
Everything we need is waiting for us in Jesus. The bible says we are complete in Him. We just need to learn to walk in all that heaven has for us ,while still on earth. We do that by faith. Faith is the currency we use to transfer Gods provision for us from the unseen realm of the spirit to this natural, earthly realm.
“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form. And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. (Colossians 2:9-10)
Spiritual currency works the same way as natural currency. If you have an abundance in your natural bank account, through your deposits then you can enjoy that abundance. If you have an abundance of faith in your spiritual account, you can then enjoy all the blessings of heaven on earth. As the bible says, “God give us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Timothy 6:17).
My husband Philip recently preached a message on faith – it’s his favourite subject. He was sharing that he has been making faith deposits all year in a particular area of his life. He has been listening and reading God’s word to increase his measure of faith. Some sermons he has listened to seven and eight times throughout the whole year. He even goes to sleep listening to words of faith some nights.
He’s been consistently putting in the Word of God, and, it is starting to flow out of him. It has taken a year of concentrated effort to get his old thinking out of the way, so as to put on the new thinking of God. There have been times when he didn’t want to listen to another message, or sit down and read another verse, and he struggled with the topic throughout the months. But now he is starting to see breakthrough, because he took the time and effort to deposit the Word of God, which has grown his small measure of faith in that part of his life, to the point where it is starting to manifest good things.
What we deposit is what we will have available to draw on. It really matters what we read, listen to, and surround our lives with. If we want to be able to draw on faith, hope, trust and strength, then we have to deposit those things in our lives. Too often we want to live like microwave Christians, and expect an instant feast when we only took the time to deposit “two minute noodles”
Make a quality decision today to begin making faith deposits so that you can become spiritually rich. As you do know that when you have an abundance of faith in your spiritual account nothing, and I mean nothing is impossible for you!
No deposit, no return; consider carefully what you deposit today?

Prayer: Lord help me to be consistent, and to take the time and effort to deposit good things into my life so that I have something to draw on. Please teach me as I read your word, and also lead me to the right places, and people to encourage me to do that. In Jesus name Amen.
