There is often so much going on around us that it can be very easy to lose focus on what is important and to become confused about what it is to be successful.
I'm learning however that a helpful discipline to have is choosing to do something every day that my future self will thank me for and having key commitments, like anchors in my day, that can help me remain consistent and focused.
Some examples of doing something every day that my future self will thank me for are to:
Exercise every day, eat healthily, read 20 mins a day, listen to an uplifting message or teaching, do something creative, spend time with Jesus, stay connected with my husband and family, take time to relax, and do at least one thing towards fulfilling my goals. I love that God accepts and loves us just the way we are but also sees our unlimited potential and cheers us on to keep growing and moving forward. Who we become is a result of the smallest and most simple acts we do regularly, which either help us grow, maintain, or regress, so today, determine to commit to doing something every day that your future self will thank you for.
“Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you. (Psalm 37:5)
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
Prayer: Lord, would you please help me continually grow and move forward. Today I’m choosing to do something that my future self will thank me for. In Jesus name Amen.
