I was chatting to our youngest daughter Shontelle about babies and being pregnant today. As she is one of six children, I have a bit of experience on the subject. 😊
It got me thinking about how believing God for something is like being pregnant too. You could say is like being "pregnant with a promise". God releases a seed of a vision, idea or dream, and then by faith, the substance of what God has revealed is conceived within us.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". (Hebrews 11:1)
However, just as you never used to be able to see the baby growing inside of the Mum before technology enabled you to, you often can't see any evidence of a promise while it's developing either.
It's why as your promise is growing and getting bigger in the unseen realms, and behind the scenes that your faith and patience will have to go to work until what you are believing for is "birthed".
I'm always saying I'm "bigger on the inside"…I am "pregnant" with houses, land, blessing, ideas, businesses, creativity, answers to prayer, miracles and revival.
I know what God has said, and I keep building into that by focusing on His word, taking care of my promises, and reading over any words God has spoken. By reading, praying, and visualising, I believe for the growth and subsequent arrival of what God has spoken and the future for me He has declared in His Word.
While you wait for "delivery day", it's vital that you're mindful of what you speak, see and hear because it's too easy to let go of what God has revealed when it seems to be taking a long time to come to pass.
When pressure comes, base your faith on God's word and undergird it with patience. It will enable you to hold onto the promises of God even when you're under pressure or weary from waiting.
"Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap if we do not give in." (Galatians 6:9 AMP)
Don't forget the work of the Holy Spirit in all of this. He is continually working in us, teaching, interceding, and backing our faith and patience with His mighty power. God's goodness will always make a way for you to triumph. (2 Cor 2:14)
1 John 5:4 "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world."
Today I encourage you to honour and remain holding onto and carrying the promises of God – they are life within you, so allow them to grow and develop as you count your blessings, pray, and believe until your promise arrives.
"Do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises." (Hebrews 6:12 NKJV)
Prayer: Lord, please help me to hold on to the promises you have spoken to me. Thank you that I have power on the inside of me that causes me to triumph and give birth to your promises and plans for me. Today I stand in faith and patience and thank you in advance. In Jesus Name Amen.
