Endurance is the power to withstand something challenging with fortitude and resilience. It is also the ability to recover from and have immunity to fatigue and trauma.
To travel through life well, reach our fullest potential and live the life God has planned for us it’s going to take endurance. Endurance to persist, keep going, hold onto our dreams and to continually stand upon God’s promises.
Endurance however is something that many people don’t really possess for it is far too easy to take the easy route, or settle for comfort, security and the status quo. Yet God has actually called each one of us to persevere and run with endurance the race that is set before us so that we might win the prize. (Hebrews 12:1).
However for us to consistently run with endurance we are going to need to know what we are running towards and for. What is in front of us and why and what are we persevering for?
Today I encourage you to take some time to seek God for the race He has destined you to run. We are all capable of being and doing far more than we imagine or give ourselves credit for and it’s in the gradual steps; consistency and keeping focused and intentional that enable us to experience and become all that God made us for.
Consider where are you heading, what is the purpose in it and what are the steps you need to take to move forward? Each week pray and ask yourself and God what can I consistently do today and this week to increase in my capacity and to grow and develop towards my goal. Then set your vision and focus and run at with it all your might. Because once you know what is before you, God promises He will direct your steps, strengthen you with all power and enable you to withstand, overcome and persevere so that you may win the prize and take hold of everything for which God took hold of you.
Run your race today, and run it in such a way that your may consistently move forward with endurance so that you may win!
“And let endurance have its perfect result so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”(James 1:4)
“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.” (1 Corinthians 9:24)
Prayer: I pray that I will be strengthened with all God’s glorious power so that I will have all the endurance and patience I need. May I be filled with joy, always thanking the Father because He has enabled me to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.” In Jesus name Amen. (Colossians 1:11-12 NLT)
