In life, we can start off so well, knowing where we are going and what direction to take. We have a vision, purpose, a plan and know in our hearts that God is with us. But then life happens, and we can lose our way.
We can get blindsided, distracted, or led astray by our desires or the influences of others who aren’t on the same path. If we are not careful, we can find ourselves completely off track and trying to find our way back to where we are meant to be. For some, that is only for a short time, and for others, it can sadly end up being years before they find their way to where God wanted them to be in the first place.
Today, if you feel like you have lost your way or don’t know what direction to go next, I want to encourage you that Jesus knows the way.
Take the time to seek Him and listen to what He speaks to your heart.
He will help you see what you have in your hand.
Help you recognise the talents and skills that you can move forward with, and
Reveal opportunities you have in front of you to work with.
He will help you find your way back to Him (or to Him in the first place) and which way to travel forward when you take the time to stop and seek Him.
If you listen, you will hear Him calling; just be brave enough to follow. I’ve discovered that looking for those who know Jesus already makes the right path easier to find, and you can ask them to help and pray for you too.
Don’t waste another day being lost or knowing you have taken a wrong turn somewhere. Turn and look to Jesus; He will show you the way home and remind you of who you are and which way you should go.
“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 29:12-13)
“Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls, says the Lord”. (Jeremiah 6:16)
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you”. (Psalm 32:8)
Prayer: Jesus, thank you that I can never get so lost that you can’t find me. Help me to be brave enough to admit that I lost my way or have taken a wrong turn and to stop and get the right directions. Please lead and guide me today so I can find my way back to you. In Jesus Name Amen
