8 August - If It's Not Good Yet, God's Not Done Yet

There are seasons in life where we will find ourselves living in conflict between what we are experiencing, what God says about our life, and who He is.

This conflict leaves us with a choice. "Do I trust in my present circumstances, which scream fear, risk, uncertainty, disappointment and worry, or do I trust in God's dependable and reliable goodness and that He is working for me?"

David in the bible is a great example of someone who repeatedly had to put His trust in the goodness of God rather than allowing himself to be overwhelmed by his circumstances. He faced seasons of great adversity, loneliness, waiting for change, betrayal and the constant threat of violence.

Yet his response was, "I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13)

For us to live the life we dream of and still live in a place of rest and peace, David's expectation and response must also be ours…"I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living."

It's why God says we should not worry or allow our hearts to be troubled. "Don't worry or surrender to your fear." (John 14:1 TPT)

Whether it's adversity, conflict, sickness, global strife or the problem and pressure we may face, it does not need to lead us into panic or fear.

We know the results ahead of time. God says, "All things work together for our good" (Romans 8:28). God's overall plan isn't complete if it's not good yet.

When we base our whole life, our decisions, reactions, expectations and dreams on the simple truths that God is good and He works all things together (that's ALL THINGS work together) for our good when we walk according to His purposes, it changes everything.

Why? Because we don't need to worry, stress or wonder if everything will work out. We may be faced with decisions, struggles and uncertainty, but when we base our responses, prayers and belief upon the truth that God is good, perfect and does not change, we can relax and live our lives peacefully and confidently.

God knows the end from the beginning, and nothing surprises Him. He declares, "I know the plans I have for you. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you, says the Lord." (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

Today, if you find yourself troubled, worrying, or know you have to take a step forward but you are unsure, then base your trust, actions and responses on these truths.

1. GOD IS GOOD! "He's so much better than you think!"

2. You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

3. That God is faithful to perform what He has promised.

4. God will work ALL things together for your good.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you that in every circumstance of my life, you are already working for me to bring good. Please help me trust and base my life and expectations in your goodness today and remember that you are always working ALL things together for my good. In Jesus name Amen.
