Albert Einstein stated that “everything in life is vibration”. There is in fact music all around us.
The law of nature states everything has a vibration. Everything is made up of atoms. These atoms are in a constant state of motion, causing frequencies and sounds.
Scientific studies are discovering that the cells in a human body vibrate. Our cells resonate with frequencies. The human brain even has a dedicated set of nerve cells that respond only to the sound of music.
It’s not only our bodies that make music. Planets and stars actually also give off music? Although space is a virtual vacuum, this does not mean there is no sound in space. Sounds still exists in the form of electromagnetic vibrations and can be detected using specially designed instruments developed by NASA. These amazing ambient space sounds come from electronic vibrations of the planets, moons and rings.
God didn’t just create the world to merely function; He injected it with beauty and His infinite creativity. All creation is making music which reflects His creativity and beauty.
Johann Sebastian Bach said, “The aim of all music is the glory of God”. Every sound, frequency, and vibration’s ultimate purpose is to bring enjoyment, to cause us to glorify God, and draw near to Him.
The question to ask ourselves is whether the music and sounds we listen to are helping us to focus our mind on things above? God has put music in the heart of every person. Not only that, He has put it within the very cells of our entire being. As we seek to draw near to God music can be a tremendous aid to help us.
The other “voices” and distractions in our life are quieted as we allow music to aid us in letting go of the world and fixing our eyes upon heaven. A sound, song and it’s words that point our hearts and minds towards God draws us into His presence and helps us to enter into communing with Him.
It’s often the very thing we need to help us let go of the world and it’s concerns, that we might recollect and re-engage our hearts toward Jesus.
This week as you pursue living in His presence, let a song rise up in your heart to sing, and/or listen to music which draws you towards heaven. For in His presence is fullness of joy, and the realization that God actually wants to be our friend; our buddy!
“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His loving kindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.” (Psalm 100:4)
“Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above and not on earthly things” (Colossians 3:2)
