What we think and meditate, or ponder upon first thing in the morning usually sets the course for our day. Which is why I try to think upon those things which will build and establish me in strength and positivity. Personally I’ve learnt the ultimate source of encouragement, comfort and edification is found in quieting my mind and heart to spend quality time with Jesus, and to read and meditate on His word in the Bible.
As I consistently spend time doing this, something happens. Instead of random, negative and fearful thoughts and words formulating my day, God’s words become mine, and His Word spoken out of my mouth carries creative power!
One of the biggest things many people are afraid of is failure and disappointment. But if we are ever to attempt much of anything we will have to face our fears, take the time to study what God says, and then allow His words of strength, perseverance and success to become ours. That may mean we need to challenge mindsets and beliefs which rise up. It may mean letting go of our past, and realising that regardless of our past God promises He will work all things out together for our good when we trust and follow Him.
“And we know (with great confidence) that God (who is deeply concerned about us) causes all things to work together (as a plan) for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. (Romans 8:28 Amp)
The words and beliefs we think upon and then speak program our spirits – the core of who we are, for either success or defeat. “Words are faith containers. They carry faith, or fear, and they produce after their kind.” (Charles Capps)
Today let God’s Words become yours, and challenge any thought, feeling or situation that doesn’t look or sound like Him. Renew your heart and mind with Gods promises. Speak victory in the face of apparent defeat. Abundance in the face of apparent lack, and health and wholeness in the face of sickness and depression.
Here are some “God Words” phrased into things you can say over our day that you might find helpful. I’ve chosen to make them the words I speak and think about as I set the course for my day.
“My mind is renewed by the Word of God; therefore I forbid any thoughts of failure, sickness, lack and defeat to inhabit my mind.” (Ephesians 4:23)
“I am delivered from the power and authority of darkness. I cast down reasonings and imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and I bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of God’s Word.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
“Jesus is the Lord of my life. Sickness and disease have no power over me. I am forgiven and free from sin and guilt. I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness.”(Colossians 1:21,22)
“I am free from unforgiveness and strife. I forgive others as Jesus has forgiven me, for the life of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 6 :12; Romans 5:5)
“Jesus bore my sickness and carried my pain. Therefore I give no place to sickness or pain. For God sent His Word and healed me.” (Psalm 10:20)
“The Lord causes my thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and so my plans are established and succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3) (Charles Capps – God’s Creative Power)
Prayer: Lord I choose to think upon and speak your words today so that they then become my words, which are full of heavens creative power. Therefore I forbid any thoughts of failure, sickness, lack and defeat to inhabit my mind. In Jesus name Amen.
