14 January - Make Things Happen

I believe we are born for such a time as this and that God empowers us for anything we may be required to walk through. With Him, we can all be instrumental in making a positive impact and difference to those around us, especially if we choose to use what God has gifted and equipped us with. God’s enabling and guidance can bring change and encouragement and help stem the tide of negativity and fear.

Jesus said, “Your lives light up the world. How can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others so that your commendable works[ will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 TPT)

We all have something to contribute that God can and will work in and through us to make an impact. It could simply be a word of encouragement, a smile, a helping hand or using our talents and abilities to restore and renew hope, to be a light in the darkness.

In the middle of every difficulty lies an opportunity to grow, learn and make a difference.

Make yourself available to help and encourage others where you can.

Take the time to encourage yourself in the Lord. Remind yourself of his promises, and look for the good and potential in yourself and those around you.

There are three types of people in this world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened.” Be a person who makes things happen for good in your world.

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

“If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? (Romans 8:31)

Prayer: Lord, I look to you today for my encouragement and rest in your promises. Thank you that you have a plan and nothing surprises you. Please help me to trust in you today and to encourage and be a light in the dark. Use me to make a difference today. In Jesus name Amen.
