17 April – You’re worth it!

your'e worth it

Today I witnessed an investment pay off. Our youngest child Isaac participated in his first horse-riding event. We have invested time, energy, prayer and money into Isaac pursuing his dream of having his own horse. At present he, or should I say we, are intent on honing our horsemanship skills in preparation for his dream to come to pass. That has meant learning from scratch how to care for a horse, early morning rides and lessons, and the understanding of the responsibility and commitment needed to take care of one. Today it meant a 5am start, and watching Isaac participate in his events, and the huge smile on his face as he proudly displayed his winning ribbons.

Isaac’s prayers and his and our investment in his dream is paying off, and it’s awesome to watch him as he is steadily growing and developing.

I believe God wants us to all invest our lives in those things that are worthwhile and God inspired. The question however is, “what are we actually investing our life in?” Are we investing our time, effort, finances and thought life into things that position and help us to become the person we were created to be?

However from my experience and what I have learned from God’s word, the greatest investment we can make is to spend our lives getting to know Jesus. That has massive rewards in itself, but it is the one instance where someone else has made the investment in us, and yet we reap the rewards. Jesus invested his life into us, giving it up for us, so that we could reap a harvest of joy, peace, purpose, and eternal life.

Coupled with this is the fact that when we spend time with God He starts to reveal to us what we were made for. He thought we were worth the investment because He loves us, much the same as my husband and I believe that Isaac and our other five children are worth our investment too.

Today, know that Jesus sees you and made the choice that you were worth investing his life for. He gave His all for you, so that you might have life, and life more abundantly. (John 10:10)

If He thinks you are that worthwhile, don’t you think you should start seeing yourself as someone who Jesus thought worth dying for, and start investing your own life into those things that matter to both you and Him.

Stop thinking less of yourself than you ought, and start to invest into one of God’s greatest assets – YOU!

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:6-7)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8)

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Prayer: Lord help me to understand that I matter to you, and that you made the ultimate investment into my life because you believe I’m worth it. Because my life does matter to you please help me to invest my time and effort wisely on those things that really matter, and for which I was born. In Jesus Name Amen.
