21 Nov - Shaping Your Future

In 1880 a little girl named Helen Keller was born, but at 19 months of age, she was struck down with an acute illness that left her blind and deaf. As a result of these disabilities, she could not speak or read and write.

Then a woman named Anne Sullivan met Helen and was employed to see if she could teach Helen to speak and read and write, which she did. As a result, Helen Keller became a recognised author and lecturer and received the presidential medal of freedom. Her highly sought after lecturing tours led her to speak worldwide, and she became known for her success, bravery, dignity, and resolve to rise above life's difficulties.

Helen Keller's life is a reminder that you can't change the past and some of your experiences, but you can shape the future and the decisions you make moving forward.

When it seems impossible, or you don't know how you're going to do what is in front of you, Jesus says to look to Him. Look to Him when it appears too complicated or impossible. Look to Him when you are tempted to settle for He will empower you.

Allow Jesus to strengthen you where you know you are weak and to ignite vision in your heart. He is the restorer of hopes and dreams and "He gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as though they were.

So, "lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles, and run with endurance the race that is set before you, fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith " (Romans 4:17; Hebrews 12:2)

When asked which of his paintings was his greatest work, the famous Italian painter Raphael thought for a moment and then said. "My next one " Likewise, determine that your next decision and step forward is your best one yet.

Prayer: Jesus, I choose to fix my eyes upon you and to live expecting great things to happen. Please lead, guide and strengthen me to do that today. In Jesus name Amen.
