Jesus advises us not to worry, and especially to not worry about tomorrow, for today has enough things to keep us busy. Instead of worrying, He says to get in the habit of trusting Him and learning to worship through whatever we are worrying about. (Matthew 6)
God wants us to know that He has our future in His competent hands, loves our families and the people in our life even more than we do and that He will work out every circumstance for good for those who love and follow Him.
The more often we begin our day entrusting everything into God’s hands and seeking heavens perspective regarding our relationships, finances, and the day’s concerns, the easier it is to stay out of worry.
Today I encourage you to be worry free by:
Giving all your concerns to God as you read and listen to His Word so you can gain His perspective and wisdom.
Focus on the good things before you, remembering to quickly hand over any worries to God if they come up throughout the day.
Worship away your worries. Praise and worship reminds us how big God is and invites His presence and power into whatever situation we may be facing.
God ordained praise to silence our enemy, which means if you feel under attack, the best thing you can do is praise and worship because the devil and his lot hate it and will flee from you as you do. “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
“From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger.” (Psalm 8:2)
God knows everything that is going on and the end from the beginning already, so when we choose to trust Him, we can start enjoying life knowing He’s holding everything together.
Jesus said, “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon was not dressed as beautifully as they are in all his glory. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” (Matthew 6:25-34)
Prayer: Lord, please help me worship through any of my worries, cultivate and have an attitude of trusting you with my life as I look to have heavens perspective about my circumstances. Thank you that you are taking care of me today. In Jesus name Amen
