25 May - Look For The Good

"Encouragement is like glitter. That stuff sticks, and you'll still find it years later."


Every day, it's really important to look for and acknowledge that the world is still wonderful, and God is still all around us in the very air we breathe. He is working, healing, restoring and releasing the miraculous daily.


Plus, Jesus is more interested in our future than He is in our past. He says, "Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new." (Isaiah 43:18 The Message)


He is more interested in our future and the good things he has planned for us to walk in than anything we may have missed or messed up in the past.


One of the ways God encourages and guides us to both look ahead and let go of our past disappointments and the things we don't understand is to keep the good and our future hope in the forefront of our lives.


God knows the importance of filling our hearts and minds with love and good news; He wants us to pay attention to those things that are good, for where there is good news, there is joy; where there is joy, there is hope, and where there is hope, faith is activated, and then all things become possible.


With all these beneficial effects of good news, I encourage you today to focus on and look for those things that generate joy in you and in others. Look for good news stories when you listen to and read news feeds or papers. When in conversation, listen out and repeat the good, not the bad. When you hear or experience something amazing, share it. And most of all look to Jesus because He is good, and his mercies are new every morning. As you do this, it will build not only your expectation and faith for great and marvellous things to happen but also in those around you.


Spread some good news because God is good, happiness is contagious, and the world is waiting for you to spread hope and the joy of seeing dreams fulfilled.


"How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news of peace, who preach the gospel of good things!" (Romans 10:15)


"The thief (devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)


"Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)


Prayer: Lord, please help me focus on good things so that I would attract and be like a magnet for positivity and the miraculous and that I will then be able to share it with others today. "May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit I may abound in hope". (Romans 15:13) In Jesus' Name, Amen.
