25 Oct – Taking Care Of Business

I-Don’t-Care-Quot.jpg

There is always something or someone who is talking or doing things that will no doubt push against our values, what we believe and who we are. Social media is often plastered with the latest ridiculous thing someone has said or done, family, friends and acquaintances can behave badly and the world feels at times like it might have been tipped on its head. However that is not the time to be “sucked” into everyone else’s drama or the noise of the world around us.

Instead of allowing things to get us off focus, because let’s face it there is a lot of silliness often going on around us, this is the time to brush off the cares of the world, the worries that so easily crowd our thoughts and heart, the opinions of others and the people or circumstances that attempt to take us off track and away from our purpose and destiny. Set your mind on heavenly things and who God says you are. Don’t allow yourself to be concerned with anything that God hasn’t asked you to be involved in or to engage over and trust that He will work out everything for your good in the long run.

Jesus himself didn’t allow himself to get distracted or taken down by the noise, attitudes or nonsense that often went on around him or was said about him. Even when people were trying to silence and do him harm he simply walked through the masses and got on with the business of what he was here for. When it was time to speak he spoke up and when it was time to act He did, but never did He allow himself to be distracted or sidelined by circumstances or other people’s opinions or comments.

Jumping up, they mobbed him and forced him to the edge of the hill on which the town was built. They intended to push him over the cliff. But He (Jesus) walked right through the crowd and went on his way.” (Luke 4:29-30 NLT)

Today I encourage you to follow Jesus’s example and don’t allow everyone else’s “silliness” to take you away from the business at hand and what you are here for. Choose to get on and focus on what you are doing and with those people and places that bring you joy and leave the rest to God to sort out.

“Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.” (1 Thess 4:11)

“It is an honour for a person to cease from strife, but every fool quarrels.”(Proverbs 20:3

So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.” (Matt:33-34 TPT)

Prayer: Lord thank you that I have a destiny and purpose in you. Please help me to remain steadfast and focused; that regardless of everyone else’s opinions and the noise around me that I would continue to go about the “business” you have called me to today. In Jesus name Amen
