There is a saying that, “no matter what a persons past may have been, their future is spotless”.
It’s what we do with what we have before us and in front of us that really matters, especially when you have given Jesus your past with any of it’s mistakes and mess-up’s and asked for His forgiveness. He says when we do that He will take our sins and removes then as far as the east is from the west. Which means it’s not God who is reminding or beating us over the head with our mistakes and our not so great past, but ourselves, others or the devil. The bible says that there is now no condemnation for those who know Jesus. He doesn’t point the finger, condemn or hold a record of our wrongs once we have confessed and asked for His forgiveness. Our future’s are spotless, we have a clean slate, a blank page and a way forward.
“So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus”. (Romans 8:1 TPT)
Yet how often do we not actually live in this freedom? How often instead when we get quiet and alone by ourselves do we doubt our freedom, God’s forgiveness, and our worthiness? We hold the record of our wrongs, and it’s this record that limits, burdens and makes us feel and think we cannot be any different, that our life has been mapped out by our mistakes and things can’t change.
However I want to encourage you that when Jesus says we are forgiven He means it. He gave everything He had to purchase our freedom and forgiveness and if He says we are free then we are. Nothing in heaven, on earth or beneath the earth can separate us from His love, and if you’d only start to believe what He says about your life and future I can guarantee it will change how you look at yourself in the mirror, how you think, and how you approach your future. Because when you grasp hold of the truth of your forgiveness and understand that you are worthy and in right standing before a Holy God it can’t help but make you bolder, more confident, and willing to believe for what everyone else may think is impossible. The limits come off, the loneliness and fear dissolves, the hurt disappears and you start to emerge as a brand new person.
Today don’t waste another minute thinking less of yourself than you ought. Instead make the decision to come to Jesus so that you can off load the rubbish, self-doubt, mistakes, and feelings of unworthiness and fear, and receive in return His forgiveness, cleansing, hope, love, and new purpose and meaning. I can guarantee from personal experience it will change your life and your future self will thank you more than you can imagine.
“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us”. (Psalm 103:12 NIV)
“There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us – no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through Jesus”. (Romans 8:38-39 TPT)
Prayer: Jesus I come to you and give you all my mistakes, fears and my feelings of unworthiness. Please wash me clean from the inside out and transform my life. I give it to you today and ask you show me what my future looks like through your eyes. In Jesus name Amen.
