27 May – Solution Focused

There are days, especially if you are inclined to stew or worry over things, when you can become more problem than solution-focused.

However, to get ourselves above our circumstances, we have to change our focus from looking at the problem to looking for the solution. It helps to have a heavenly view and perspective of our lives and situation because then we are far more inclined to think God’s thoughts about things, and in doing so become more solution-focused – and it’s being solution-focused that is going bring our breakthrough.

Whatever we are facing, God says He will walk with us through every challenge. We may not understand or even see how it’s possible to get to the other side, but He does, even if that means moving things supernaturally to get to us what He has promised in His Word.

The important thing in moving from a problem to a solution focus mentality is that “we cannot afford to entertain thoughts about ourselves that God doesn’t think about us. The moment we entertain, dwell or feed on those things contrary to His word over us, we believe a lie and war against the very purposes of God in our life.

The mind that is contrary to God sets itself up for failure.” (Bill Johnson)

Today I encourage you to look to the ultimate problem solver, God Himself. Even if He has to make water gush from a rock to quench your thirst, part the oceans, send birds to feed you, supernaturally supply money to provide for you, open blind eyes, heal broken hearts and bodies, soften hardened hearts, silence your enemies, or even resurrect to life those things that are dead, if God needs to do that to fulfil His Word to you He will. (See Exodus 17:6; Exodus 14:21; 1 Kings 17:216; Matthew 17:27; Mark 8:22-25; Matthew chap 8; John 11:38-44; Acts 9:1-19)

Look to Him and trust Him to care for you. Cast your cares upon Him and choose to place your problem in His capable hands. Then listen and ask Him to reveal His strategy and plan to enable you to keep walking through to the solution because He is faithful, and He will do what He has promised.

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” (Proverbs 16:3)

“Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. All your heart relies on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Prayer: Lord, please help me be solution-focused and look to you for direction and guidance today. I choose to lean on you and your promises to me rather than allowing myself to get into fear and worry. I trust in you today, for you are faithful. In Jesus name Amen.
