28 Oct -I’ll get around to it!

round-tuit

“I’ll get around to it”. It’s a fairly well known saying in my part of the world. We’ve even made an item called “A Round tuit” which is usually a smooth round wooden disc with the words “Round tuit” on it.

Basically it’s all about the fact that people often say they’ll do something, when they get “around to it”, but when is that exactly?

Perhaps we all need a “Round tuit” to prompt us when there has been enough talking and postponing, and to go and chase our dreams, or face those things we have been putting off.

People often say that they really want to do something, or they should really face or deal with a particular issue. But before they know it five, ten or fifty years has gone by. And what have they done in those years? Was whatever we were all busy doing worth postponing following our dreams and life for? It’s all too easy to sit back and look at others and say, “I could have done that, or been that, or gone there”…. Well, why didn’t you?

Procrastinating and having the attitude of “I’ll get round to it”, can cause us to miss the season and timing that God has for us, and what He has planned for our lives. We just need to cease our postponing and making of excuses, draw a line in the sand of the years that have gone by already, breathe deeply and say, “That’s enough, I’m done procrastinating, God bring it on, I’m going to go out and live the life which you have given me!”

Today, stop what you are doing, and dream; imagine, pray and seek God for His plan and dreams for you. Make a decision to stop living with the attitude of “I’ll get around to it”, and Get to it instead!

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” (Psalm 32:8)

Prayer: Lord please help me to quiet my heart and mind so that I can hear the dreams you have placed in my heart. I don’t want to live a life of procrastinating and postponing, so that I never actually live the life you have for me. Help me to seize the day today! In Jesus Name. Amen.
