30 April - Building Muscles

This week in my neuroscience class, we have been studying muscles and all the motor neurons and circuitry systems involved in enabling movement. Our bodies and all the different parts working together in their specific roles are what make it possible for us to function as we do.

Just picking up a cup causes a series of motor neurons to fire, activating muscles to contract. The varying muscles in our bodies are designed to help us breathe, lift, walk, run, and jump, to name a few. As we increasingly use these muscle groups, they become stronger and faster.

Our faith is much like our body's muscles, and when we use it, it also grows, develops, and can help us walk and run into all that God calls us to.

Building faith muscles, like building up our body muscles, is a process. But it is what God uses to bring the revelation or vision He gives us to come to pass.

When we look at some of the mighty exploits that others have done throughout history or read of those who’ve believed in God more recently, we can sometimes feel inadequate. But we shouldn’t. They have simply grown their faith and confidence in God to believe that what they “saw” is possible in him. They held onto God’s promises, fed their faith, and strengthened their “faith muscles”.

It’s not just for the select few to do out-of-the-ordinary things; we can all do and be something with the measure of faith we have been given. We can choose to use it and grow it! God says He is not a respecter of persons and does not show partiality, but He does reward those who diligently seek Him. (Romans 2:12)

And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him”. (Hebrews 11:6)

Today, don’t be afraid to build your relationship with God and to step into the new things he has for you. He has a destiny and good things for you to walk in, which are no doubt bigger than your faith and confidence right now, but don’t be discouraged or let go of the vision and revelation He reveals to you because it seems impossible or too hard.

Build your faith muscles to handle what is before you by going to God’s Word and finding out what He says.

Spend time talking to Jesus and with people who believe and have developed their faith muscles too. When you do, your faith will continue to grow to handle more and cause those things you “see” to come to pass.

“Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” St Augustine

But the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits”. (Daniel 11:32)

So, then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17)

“Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.” (Ephesians 3:20 TPT)

Prayer: Lord, please reveal the destiny you have for me and that I would continue to grow and develop my faith so that I can walk with you and do exploits and fulfil all that you have planned for me. In Jesus’ Name Amen.
