30 December - A New Chapter

Beginning a new chapter is the point where the last part of the story has ended, and the stage is set for a fresh storyline. The next chapter entails letting go of the past, turning the page, shifting focus and moving forward.

I love new chapters in books and life because new beginnings generate excitement, and part of me wants to quickly turn the page and find out what will happen next, even though I may also feel apprehensive.

But no matter how hesitant we may feel at the prospect of beginning a new chapter when it comes to our lives, change and new chapters are inevitable.

Fortunately, God wants to be in the midst of any changes and regardless of what we have or haven’t done, He always has a strategy and way to continue to write an amazing story. We choose whether we will give him the pen to partner with us to write it or will we go it alone.

Today, consider whether it's time to start a new chapter in your story. What new thing can you do to change or enhance your life?

What do you need to start, change or take hold of to move towards the story you want your life to tell?

Our future is vast and full of amazing things that God wants to share with us…He says we were made to win, laugh and live. (John 10:10)

The decision, however, is up to us as to whether we will listen to God’s word, guidance, and the dreams He has placed in our hearts and then choose every day to live out the story we were made to tell. Because God promises He will help us write it, for He is mighty to deliver us from anything that attempts to hold us back, and He promises over and over again to lead and guide us in every chapter of our lives.

With God helping you, begin and then keep writing a story that will make you and everyone around you glad you got up in the morning.

Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new”. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Take on an entirely new way of life – a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you”. (Ephesians 4:24 The Message)

Jesus said, “A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of”. (John 10:10 The Message)

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the new chapters in life and the freedom and opportunity you give me daily to write my story. I’m alive for a reason, so please help me not to take that for granted but to live the life you have for me. Please help me to lay aside the past and to look ahead to my future with hope and expectation today. In Jesus name Amen
