30 Sept – Biblical Keys To Help You Achieve Your Goals

God is all for you dreaming big things because he is a BIG God and loves to bless you with every good thing. He wants you to dream, imagine and believe, and promises that He will do exceedingly more than you can ask, think, dream, pray for or possibly imagine according to the power that works in you. (Ephesians 3:20)

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)

His plan is for you to be able to live life to the fullest and to be successful, set goals and use your faith to achieve all you set out to become. The bible actually teaches that making plans and goal-setting to fulfil your dreams is wise, prudent, and biblical.

However, there is a process and key steps necessary to achieve success.

Step 1. Examine your heart and motivation – Ask the hard questions about your ambitions and why you want to pursue them?

Step 2. Align your dreams and goals with Gods plan for your life – If your aim is to prosper and do well in every area of your life, it’s important to check that what and who you are focusing on is within the parameters of God’s Word and the talents, passions and purpose He has given you.

Step 3. Seek wise counsel – godly and knowledgeable counsel helps prevent mistakes and saves a lot of time. “Your plans will fall apart right in front of you if you fail to get good advice. But if you first seek out multiple counsellors you’ll watch your plans succeed.’ (Proverbs 15:22 TPT)

Step 4. Set S.M.A.R.T goals that are: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and within a certain Time.

I’ve discovered that when I know my dreams and the goals I’ve set are aligned with God’s purposes and will for my life, I can rest in the knowledge that all of heaven will be working to help me accomplish them. I also know my plans are not just my own, so it’s easier to persevere through setbacks and remain diligent and committed to the tasks at hand.

“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14)

“I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13)

The bible is full of goal setting tips and encouragement, so I encourage you to take the time to seek Him and to study His Word. You’ll find God’s Word is full of helpful keys for success and wisdom to achieve all you set out to do and become.

Here are some great scriptures to help you align your plans with God’s purpose for your life. I encourage you to pick your favourites and put them on your phone or on sticky notes on your computer desk and mirror to remind you every day. I’ve shared my favourite one first. 😊
