10 June - I Will Never Leave You

Sometimes we may feel like what is up ahead in our lives is downright scary, confronting and way out of our comfort zones. We wonder if Jesus will be there to "hold our hand" and be with us on our journey.

But the amazing truth about having Jesus as part of our lives is that He promises to do that. He promises to lead, direct our steps and show us the right path. When what we face seems difficult or challenging, He promises He will be there to support us and even to be there to "hold our hand".

When we invite Jesus to be part of our lives, we never have to walk into a room alone ever again; we never have to handle life by ourselves and in our strength again or feel afraid, overwhelmed or intimated again, and we don't ever need to feel lonely or unloved.

Through the absolute highs and best times of life, Jesus says He will be there celebrating alongside us. In the times when we can't see the sunshine for the storm raging, He will remain constant. He promises never to leave us, even when we may doubt His goodness and wander away from Him and onto other paths. His goodness will keep calling us home.

Sometimes we may not understand everything that happens in our lives, but the truth is we see partially and with often limited understanding. But God sees and knows all, and He says this:

"But now, God's message, the God who made you in the first place…

"Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine.

When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you.

When you're in rough waters, you will not go down.

When you're between a rock and a hard place it won't be a dead end. Because I am your God, your personal God, the Holy of Israel, your Savior.

I paid a huge price for you… That's how much you mean to me! That's how much I love you!

I'd sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the whole of creation just for you. "So don't be afraid: I'm with you." (Isaiah 43:1-4)

"Don't be afraid for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

Today, if you know you have chosen another route and you feel lost and far from Jesus, I encourage you to turn and run towards Him.

If you are feeling afraid or uncertain of what to do next, take some time to sit quietly and focus on Jesus. Open a bible and search God's word for every situation you may be facing. The "keys" are hidden for you there. And know that through it all, you can trust in Him.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you that no matter how far I wander or when I may stumble and doubt, you are constant and promise that you are with me. Help me walk closer to you today as I firmly keep my eyes fixed on you. In Jesus' name Amen
