12 March - Bless You

How great would it be if we grew up seeing, hearing and believing that God always wants to bless us and that that blessing will always turn every situation in our favour?

Bless you! Our understanding of what blessing means has been watered down so much that now it’s just something people say when someone sneezes. But it’s so much more than that.

The blessing carries substance and creative power from heaven. When activated, the blessing will cause us to look up, expect good things, believe again, and release our faith for an increase and new things. It causes us to be fully persuaded that God will do all that He promises.

It’s one thing to see the blessing work for someone else, but it’s another thing to expect and believe that it will operate the same way for us. This is where our minds and hearts often need to be renewed and healed. Because whatever we carry on the inside will cause us to believe for good or to expect disaster.

Many times I have caught myself thinking negatively or expecting something to go wrong, and have realised how often my mindset and beliefs were contrary to what God wants for my life. That’s why we are transformed when we renew our thoughts with what God says about our lives and futures. We are transformed because we start to expect and look out for the blessing. We, in a sense, draw awesome things into our lives.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2)

That’s what Jesus came to proclaim; the happy gospel; gospel meaning good news. He encapsulates the blessing. He is the Blessing. He demonstrated how powerful “The Blessing”, is when He healed the sick, raised the dead and conquered sin and death.

Today, check your thoughts and mindsets. Are you expecting good things, to happen, or do you expect bad? Where does the blessing need to be activated in your life because that’s what Jesus came to deliver?

Turn to Him today, and activate by faith and trust in His goodness the power of the blessing to override and nullify every curse in your life. Trust him to turn things around for you, to make all things work out for good, and in your favour regardless of the circumstances.

Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us.” (Galatians 3:13)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the blessing that is found in you. I reject the curse and its operation in my life, and I expect good things to happen today as I walk in step with you. In Jesus Name Amen.
