16 March - Skydiving

Most of us want to live a life where we can navigate the highs and lows well in life and everything in between.

It's why it's helpful to learn how to stay emotionally, mentally and spiritually healthy and understand that we can have highs and lows as long as we endeavour to return to a steady, balanced point where we feel safe afterwards.

For example, skydivers love the thrill of the jump. The fear experienced at the thought and completion of their jump out of a plane is soon replaced with euphoria, and a high as the skydiver floats safely to the ground, once again returning to a balanced emotional state.

Without the pressure, stress and even fear, there would be no exhilaration or experience of achievement. (Not that I am encouraging anyone to skydive) Sometimes we need the push to gain the blessing.

Keeping balance in life takes both being pushed a little and being surrounded by things that make us feel comfortable and at peace. When we face stressful, negative or challenging circumstances, we balance these things with what brings calm and peace.

If you are unsure what to do, where to focus, or are feeling either stressed or bored, I recommend going to God's Word and seeking Him. As you do, listen to his voice speaking, igniting dreams, releasing new goals and imparting his plans and purpose. Then act upon what He says and keep walking with Him. Your life will start to resemble an adventure, where he leads you to walk in things that may sometimes stretch you out of your comfort zone but will be a lot of fun and full of meaning.

I've travelled to amazing places, done jobs I never thought I would, prayed for and seen miracles, like legs growing, deaf ears open, bodies restored, and hearts mended. I have an amazing husband, six awesome kids, and a full life. It frequently has both its high's and lows, but I've discovered that regardless of where you have come from or what you're going through if you seek Jesus and his way of doing life and are both willing and obedient, He will cause you to have the best of the land and a full overflowing life. (John 10:10 Ephesians 3:20; Jeremiah 29:11)

Don't be afraid of either the highs or the lows - life has both to enable us to have a balanced, amazing, meaningful life. Instead, seek Jesus, his Word and His and ways, and He will lead you. He is faithful to finish what he has started in you and has a great plan if you will seek after and follow him.

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:31-33)

"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you have an amazing life planned for me. It may stretch me at times, but I ask that you please help me to focus on you and to follow your guidance so that I can walk in my purpose and live my best life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
