20 February - Do Something New Today

God created the world, and when He did, he designed it so that we would continually grow and overcome challenges, have dreams, goals and visions. We can do far more than we think possible if we will put our hearts and minds to it.

This is one of the reasons I started a new thing today and began studying for a university degree. As D.L. Moody said, "If God is your partner, then make your plans big."

Plus, I know that when we do new things, it makes new pathways in our brains which helps to open us up to God moving in our lives. What we do daily affects our hearts, minds, attitudes, and spirits, and new, fresh and challenging things keeps us from getting "crusty, musty and old in our attitudes and thinking"

Isaiah 35 in the Bible always encourages me. It is a proclamation of new life from God to strengthen us where we may feel weak or fearful and reminds me that God wants us to continue to try new things, dream and look to the future. If we are breathing, He has a plan and purpose for our lives that he wants and expects us to pursue.

Psalm 35 describes how our lives can sometimes feel barren, yet God says that the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose, like rivers in the desert, will He pour out His spirit, his power and His life on those who are thirsty.

"The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing… Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. Say to those fearful-hearted, "Be strong, do not fear! (Isaiah 35:1-7)

Be encouraged today to allow God to bring spring new things up in your life. Make plans with Him, but don't look to man; to governments, your job or bank account. "look to Jesus and what heaven is saying about your life; that you have hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)

He says who the Son sets free is free indeed. He says you are no longer a slave to your past but a child of God and co-heir with Him. He says He has given you life and life abundant. He says to delight in Him, and He will grant you the desires of your heart. He says you are forgiven, healed and delivered from all evil. He says you are an overcomer, victorious, and have authority and that He must flee when you resist the devil. (John 8:36; Galatians 5:7; Psalm 37:4; John 3:16; Philippians 4:6-7; James 4:7)

“Most men die from the neck up at age 25 because they stop dreaming.” That's why it is critical to not only keep your own dreams and all that God wants to release in your life forefront, but also that you take time to encourage the dreams of those around you.

Today I encourage you to look to Jesus, lean in, listen and grab hold of what He is saying about your life. Then be brave, take a step and start preparing for what's next because all of heaven is at work on your behalf.

Jesus has new things in store for your life, and all He's asking is that you believe in Him for great and wonderful things. (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)

Prayer: Lord, thank you that all things are possible with you and that anything can happen when you move in my circumstances. Please help me to focus on you and to hear from heaven about the new things you want to release in my life. I want to make some plans with you, and I'm looking to begin something amazing today. In Jesus name Amen
