Sometimes it’s not the situation that’s the problem—it’s what we’ve been staring at.
David in the Bible had every reason to fall apart. But he didn’t fix his eyes on the battle, the betrayal, or the fear. He kept choosing to look up—again and again. And that changed everything.
You might not be able to change what’s around you right now… but you can change what you’re focusing on. And when you do? That’s when faith starts to grow.
Action Steps:
Ask: “What’s been taking up most of my headspace lately?”
Read Colossians 3:2 and write it somewhere visible.
Encourage someone else today—your words might remind them to lift their eyes too.
Think and Say:“Jesus, I’m lifting my eyes to you and what you are doing and have said and know that you are still here.” "I’m not stuck. I’m being led and you are making a way for me." "Obstacles you have to move"
Verse:“Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things.” — Colossians 3:2 (NIV)
"I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." (Psalm 121)
Prayer: Jesus, I want to keep my eyes on You. Please help me let go of fear and look for You in all of it—especially when things feel uncertain. I trust you to lead and guide me today and know you are working ALL things together for my good. In Jesus' name Amen.
