I was talking to someone today about their music and journey so far. It instantly had me thinking of all the endless possibilities and avenues they had to share their gift and story with the world.
Possibilities generate life and help us look to the future with anticipation and hope, and I love thinking about the opportunities we have every day if we are brave enough to look and think outside the box.
What we do routinely affects our hearts, minds, and attitudes, but when we do different things and look at what might be possible, it creates new pathways in our brain. It also opens the way for God to move in our lives.
Isaiah 35 in the Bible always encourages me. It is a proclamation of new life from God and reveals His desire to strengthen us even when we may feel weak or fearful of the future.
God says that the desert, which often symbolises the areas in our life which have become barren, shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; like rivers in the desert will He pour out His spirit on those who are thirsty.
"The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice". (Isaiah 35:1)
It's essential to understand that when God prompts us, and we feel Him saying something and see an opportunity that we choose to hold onto those NEW things and decide to explore them, rather than let them go or push them aside because it seems too hard or we give way to fear and uncertainty.
Every day, we get to choose to "water" those seeds of hope and vision with prayer, God's Word, believing, and being around people who can help us succeed, or we kill them off with negativity and neglect.
I encourage you to determine to hold onto whatever possibilities God releases because as it bears fruit in your life, it will always be exceedingly more than you could have ever imagined possible on your own. (Ephesians 3:20)
In the wise words of St Francis of Assisi, "Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible."
Be encouraged today and draw aside and listen to Jesus and His endless possibilities for your life. For He says, "Behold I will do a new thing; now it springs forth; shall you not know it." (Isaiah 43:19)
“And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)
“Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You” (Jeremiah 32:17)
Prayer: Thank you, God, that you love me so much. I ask that you restore, renew and release something straight from heaven into my life as I look for and make room for possibilities and new things today. In Jesus Name. Amen.
