28 August -Jesus and the Wart!

Last night as I was putting our two youngest children to bed we were recounting some of the things Jesus has done for them, and others they know. Our third daughter overheard our conversation and came in to be part of our discussion because she had something to share with her younger siblings.

When she was 7 years old she had a nasty painful planter wart on the bottom of one of her feet. She was having difficulties walking on her foot, and the Doctor felt He would need to cut it out to remove it.

I decided to seek God for His solution and wisdom. I’ve learnt over the years that He always has an answer if we will stop long enough to listen. Sometimes He simply instructs us to pray and stand on the promises in His word, and other times He directs us to do something in the natural in a practical way also. Often we think it has to be one or the other, but God will work in and through both to get the answer to us.

In the instance of the “planter wart”, I felt the Holy Spirit direct me to put a piece of banana on the wart and cover it with a band aid. I was to do that for 7 days, changing it each night. The other thing we were to do together, was to pray and “speak” to that wart commanding it in the name of Jesus to “shrivel up and drop off!” So that’s what we did every night for 7 days. On the morning of the 8th day our daughter came running out of her room yelling, “it fell off, it fell off.” Holding out her hand she revealed a small shrivelled up disk shaped object. She’d taken the band aid off on waking up, and had discovered her foot completely smooth, healed and wart free, with the shrivelled remainder of the planter wart in her bed.

Our daughter is now in her late teens, but she still remembers that day clearly, and how God instructed and answered our prayers; and that He was faithful to His word in healing her.

He sent forth His word and healed them” (Psalm 107:20)

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.” (Matthew 9:35)

Jesus said,“Seek first his kingdom and His righteousness. (Matthew 6:33) He doesn’t want us to live in fear when we face challenging circumstances. He wants us to learn to trust Him, to discover that He does speak to us though His word and a quiet voice within us. He wants to lead us to solutions; to wholeness, to peace and to joy. He has a way through, because His Word is true and without fault. You can take it “to the bank” so to speak.

We don’t have to have all the answers; all we need do is learn to seek Him, discovering how Heaven works. To do things His way, listening to His guidance, instead of running off always doing our own thing.

Gods says,For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater. So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:9-11)

No matter what we are facing in our day, He is there with us, giving us all the wisdom, revelation, and strength we need to walk through whatever we may face. He says we are more than conquerors; that we are victorious, that we are winners, seated above our circumstances and not beneath them. He declares that all things are possible and that we can do all things in Him. When we know and make Him part of our life, the blessing on our life turns even the most terrible circumstances and challenges around in our favour. That He heals ALL our diseases, delivers us from all evil, crowning our life with love and tender mercy. He promises to fill our life with good things, daily renewing our strength and youthfulness so that we will soar on wings like Eagles.

(Psalm 103; 1 Peter 2:27; Philippians 4:13; Isaiah 40:31)

Today, whatever you are facing, regardless of what sort of day or week you are having, know that Jesus is waiting to lead and guide you through every circumstance to victory and breakthrough. Just take the time to listen and obey what He says to do. It’s so much easier than relying on us. You can trust Him to be faithful to His promises because He loves you more than you can comprehend. His love is not changeable, and He doesn’t hold out on us”. He is always present, and His love causes Him to always honour His word.

Have a listen to this song to encourage you today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0FW–zidYA

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39)

Prayer: Lord thank you so much that you are faithful to your promises, and that all we need do is seek you and do things your way. Help me to listen long enough to hear your answer, and to walk according to your word and ways, and not my own. In Jesus Name Amen.
