29 Mar - Purpose In Every Day

God made us with a purpose, but most people have no idea what they want or are heading towards, which is dangerous because God warns us that people wander around aimlessly and perish without a vision. Proverbs 29:18.

Without a vision, we will always return to our past and what’s familiar. We don’t stand still – we either move forward or go backwards.

For example, if you don’t have a vision and plan for your money, you’ll spend all you make. If you have no vision for your health and body, you will eat everything you crave. If you don’t have a vision for what sort of relationships you want, you won’t value the ones you have or desire to keep growing as a person.

We can end up where we shouldn’t be and become more susceptible to making a mess of things. An example of that is King David and Bathsheba in the bible. When Kings went out to war with their men, David decided to stay home and chose to occupy himself looking at women bathing on their rooftops. This led to him committing adultery, getting a married woman pregnant, and having her husband, an innocent man, killed to cover up his mess. (2 Samuel 11) If David had been where he should have been and fulfilling His purpose as King, he would have saved himself a lot of trouble.

God always has a plan, and Jesus revealed that in His life and sets us a great example to follow. He knew exactly what He was here for, where He needed to be, and had a purpose in every day, every conversation, every journey, and destination.

Let’s not spend our lives being unclear, risk going backward, or fall into trouble and live aimlessly.

Take some time to seek God and write goals for the next 12-18 months that will stretch you and take God’s help to make it happen.

God wants you to live with hope and purpose. Start today and, “Write the vision and make it plain, that he may run who reads it.” (Habakkuk 2:2)

Where there is no vision [no revelation of God and His word], the people are unrestrained; But happy and blessed is he who keeps the law [of God].” (Proverbs 29:18 AMP)

Prayer: Lord, please help me take the time to write the vision and make it clear so that I can be focused and able to run towards all you have for my life. In Jesus name Amen
