Sometimes you just need to give yourself a shake; a talking to and take authority. Too often we let things come at us, and the consequence is that we feel like a road train has just driven over the top of us.
It’s those times when I say it’s time to get feisty. Yes feisty! You are not a wimp, a bump on a log or someone to be trivalled with. If you know Jesus then you are a co-heir with him, and a child of the most High God. You are not someone to be messed with.
“And if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ”. (Romans 8:17)
Sometimes we need to get up on the inside, and give ourselves a good talking to and remind ourselves who we are. We are forgiven, washed clean, and have the same power that raised Jesus from the dead residing on the inside of us. We are devil stomping, individuals that every evil force should be afraid of. You know when you get out of bed in the morning the devil and his lot are and should be afraid because you are up!
We have been given all authority in Heaven and on Earth. Jesus gave that to us, and He gave it to us to use. So what are we doing getting ourselves run over by emotional turmoil, sickness, lack, family strife, and every other thing the enemy tries to think up.
There are times, as my Mum says where you need to shout at your enemy and tell it him to clear off. She testifies that feistiness is what saved her life against aggressive cancer, and released God’s healing power throughout her body. If she had been passive she probably wouldn’t be here today.
When you are being harassed by evil, that it no time to be passive. It’s the time to stand in the reality of who you are in Christ. That doesn’t mean you get into striving. If means you walk in who you are, knowing God has you. If you are not sure how to do that start discovering through God’s word who you are in Christ; find a great place to get along side other people who know Jesus and learn how to walk in authority.
Make a decision today to not be passive and a push over any longer. Don’t be fooled anymore by the antics of the evil one. Ask God to show you what and who the real enemy is, and the cause of any stress and trouble in your life. Then stand up and use your authority, and watch the devil flee.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds” (2 Corinthians 10:4)
“Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you”. (James 4:7)
