31 March - The Solution To Your Problem

It's easy to look at life's problems and focus on what is wrong or troubling us. But if we are not careful, we can begin to speak, believe, and even pray about these problems and come under the circumstances rather than look to and trust God for His wisdom, strength and solutions.

I’ve discovered that on the path to solutions, it's important to focus on solving the problem – what can you do, change, let go of and address? Otherwise, we can get distracted by the noise around and within us and find ourselves stuck.

David in the Bible is a great example of someone who was God and solution-focused rather than problem-focused. He purposely chose to diminish his fears, insecurities and the size of the giant he faced and ran into battle knowing He was not alone.

When David faced Goliath, he didn't declare him to be a giant and something impossible to beat. Instead, David downplayed Goliath's size and declared that he was an "uncircumcised Philistine" who was no match for the God he served. (1 Samuel 17)

Next time you face a problem or circumstance you don't know how to handle alone, don't amplify the problem but look to what resources you have in your hand and to the size, strength and capabilities of the God who created the Universe, who says he will help you.

He is the same God who formed the moon and the stars with a spoken Word, parted the Red Sea, opens blind eyes, heals broken and wounded bodies and delivers His people from the fiery furnace and the lions den. He says that he is for you and not against you and is on your side to help you with every situation you will ever face.

Today don't focus on the problem or the size of your giant, but look to God for wisdom and strength and know that just as He was with David as he ran into battle and slayed that "uncircumcised Philistine", He is also with you.

"Those who know their God shall be strong and do exploits" (Dan.11:32)

" If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5)

"If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." (Duet 31:6)

Prayer: Lord, help me be honest about my feelings and any issues I’m facing. Please show me the answers and solutions to my problems and lead me in the way to go today. In Jesus name Amen.
