4 Dec - God's Gift Wrapping

God gives great gifts and seeks to answer our prayers. It's just that He often has very strange gift wrapping.

Strange gift wrapping such as Jesus, the world's saviour, came gift-wrapped as a baby and was born in a dirty stable. He ultimately found himself nailed to a wooden cross before He rose again and fulfilled His purpose to deliver mankind from the power of sin and evil.

Jesus is the answer to everything, but who He is and what He did for us was gift-wrapped very differently from the expected. It's why you shouldn't be surprised if what and how you receive from God -the people in your world, blessings, opportunities and answers to prayer are wrapped oddly, aren't always what you expect and even at times don’t look like they contain a gift at all.

However, if you hang in there, seek to discover what God is doing and keep looking to Him, you will find that He is working to deliver (odd gift wrapping and all) what you have hoped and prayed for.

Today if you are looking at your life and wondering about your circumstances and the future, I encourage you to remember the gift wrapping Jesus came in and then choose to put your life firmly in His hands. He is the ultimate gift-giver, loves you and wants you to know that everything is and will be just fine.

Therefore, don't be put off by His wrapping, because there are blessings and answers if you'll continue to trust, believe and ask for His help unwrapping the gifts when they appear, or perhaps are already right in front of you.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." (James 1:17 NLT)

"For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity." (Psalm 84:11)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Prayer: Lord, please help me keep looking to you and trust that everything you have for me will work out for my good. I trust you today and thank you in advance for the blessings coming my way. In Jesus name Amen.
