Recently I have been struggling with bad internet and phone connection in our house. The fact is, unless I have a good connection, I can do nothing much on my devices, regardless of how advanced the technology may be. All I see is the buffering symbol on my screen, or I become disconnected from my phone call.
I’ve been thinking that our life can be much like my “buffering” connection. Unless we are connected to God and our purpose in Him, we can very easily find ourselves only spinning our wheels but going nowhere fast. However, that's not God's best for us. We were created to have a fruitful, amazing life, and when we remain connected to God, He becomes our power source, meaning suddenly, all things become possible, as He promises He will complete what He started in us. When He says something, He will use all of heaven’s power and resources to bring it to pass. (Psalm 147:5)
How To Connect With God
John 15 in the bible explains how to have a healthy connection with Jesus using the analogy of a vine and its branches. It relates to Jesus being the vine and us remaining vitally connected to Him so that all His power and goodness can flow freely into our lives – just like a branch connected to the vine or my devices being connected to the internet and its power source. Whenever you I encourage you to check on your connection to Jesus, especially when you may feel tired, are struggling, or have experienced loss or disappointment. He promises that as we remain connected to Him, He will provide what you need and restore your hopes and dreams. His plans for you are always good, and He will help you become who you were created to be.
Being connected to Jesus will also cause you to have a download of inspiration, information, and revelation because everything you need is found in Him. “You are complete in Him who is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:10 NKJV)
"His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." (2 Peter 1:3 NIV). “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns” (Philippians 1:6 NLT)
Today don’t waste time buffering in disconnection and separation from God’s power working in your life. Draw near to God, give Him space in your heart, read His words in the Bible, follow what they say, and trust in His loving kindness and goodness to cause amazing “fruit” to be produced in your life as you remain connected to Him.
Prayer: Lord, I put my trust in your loving care today and trust that you will lift me up and help bring out the best in me in every area of my life as I prioritise being connected to you. In Jesus name Amen.
