If there’s one truth I keep coming back to in every season, it’s this: God really does work all things together for our good. (Romans 8:28 NLT)
He's working good not just the obvious blessings, but also in the disappointments, the delays, the dark moments too. Even when we can’t see it, He is still moving—especially in the hidden places of our lives. Just like a seed planted deep in the soil, growth often begins in the dark. It’s buried, unseen, and yep, it's covered by brown, non descript.... DIRT. Yet something powerful is taking place beneath the surface. And that’s often how God works—in the quiet, the buried, and those places in our life that can feel forgotten.
There have been seasons where I’ve prayed and prayed. I’ve believed, cried, praised, shouted in faith, whispered in hope, and still—nothing seemed to shift ... until they suddenly do! You can in the midst of it all, look around and wonder, “God, did You forget about me?” But God works behind the scenes. There’s movement happening beneath the surface long before we see the first "green sprout".
Romans 8:28 reminds us that “God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.” All things. The high moments, the heartbreaks, the delays, the breakthroughs, and even the confusing middle parts we don’t understand yet.
And just like a seed germinates in the dirt before pushing through to the light, God is forming something beautiful in the hidden places of your life. That relationship you’re praying about. That healing you are standing in faith for. That dream you’re holding onto. That step of obedience you took even when it didn’t make sense. It’s all in the soil. It’s all part of the process.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time,” and Psalm 138:8 promises, “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.” His timing may feel slow, but it is never late. God is never idle. He’s never ignoring you. He’s orchestrating something greater than you could imagine. (Ephesians 3:20 AMP)
So today, if you feel like you're in the dark—if it seems like nothing is changing—remember: God loves a “suddenly.” The breakthrough will come. The seed will sprout. Joy will come in the morning. (Psalm 30:5 NLT)
Action Steps for Today
Speak life over your situation. Declare Romans 8:28 out loud and believe it.
Write down the promises God has given you. Revisit them. Pray over them. Prophesy them over yourself - it's one of the keys to how we can partner with what God is doing and has promised. (1 Tim 1:18 NLT)
Praise in the waiting. Choose joy not because of what you see, but because of what you know God is doing.
Encourage someone else. Sometimes lifting another person up and encouraging their faith and believing lifts your own too.
Think and Say
“Even when I don’t see it, God is working.”
“I choose to trust the process. God is turning this around for my good.”
“If it’s not good yet, God’s not done yet.”
Bible Verses to Hold On To
Romans 8:28 (NIV) – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV) – “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Psalm 138:8 (NKJV) – “The Lord will perfect that which concerns me.”
Ephesians 3:20 (AMP) - "Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us"
Prayer
Lord, Thank You that You are always working, even when I can’t see it. Please help me to trust You in the quiet places, in the waiting rooms of life, and remind me that nothing is wasted when you are involved. I trust you with it all today and that you are always working all things together for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
