10 Mar – Invest In Your Future

It’s so easy when in the thick of things to look at our circumstances with a short term view. We can fixate on the immediate while negating to see with perspective the long term view of things.

For the most part, anything we do in life is an investment. We invest in our finances, education, homes, and relationships with God and others.

If we take a short-term view of all of these things, we can quickly become discouraged at the occasional hiccup we experience along the way. This causes us to forget that life is a long-term investment strategy and to stay focused on who and what is most important and our ultimate goals.

With God’s wisdom and help, the longer we stay invested, the smaller the likelihood we will lose out both in our finances, relationships and goals.

Even if things go wrong, if we view our life from a long term perspective, we will continue to learn and grow from every season and circumstance we go through. The key is to stay invested and not give up when things get tough.

Plus, the golden rule of investing is to allow sufficient time to achieve your investment goals and to enable your education, ventures, relationships, and God’s call and purpose to be fulfilled in your life. “It’s by faith and patience that we inherit the promises of God” (Hebrews 6:12).

Today take a long term view of life. That new fitness regime, budgeting plan, business venture, relationship, and most of all, the time you spend with Jesus will require an investment of your time, finances, heart, mind and actions.

Don’t get discouraged by any down turns or uncomfortable or challenging circumstances. Stay focused on your goals and dreams, that fact that God is with you, and life is not a short sprint but a long-distance marathon towards and to attain those things that truly matter.

“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” (Galatians 6:9)

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Prayer: Lord, help me to see life with a long term view and that I would have the wisdom to know where and when to make long term investments in my world so that I will see the results of my time, prayer and efforts. Most of all, to invest in my relationship with you. In Jesus name Amen.
